Rethinking Pei: A Centenary Symposium was held on the centenary of I.M. Pei, which aims at re-examining the great architectural master from a new perspective through events held in Hong Kong and Boston, the two places that are closely related to him. The symposium of 2017 was first held in Harvard University and then the University of Hong Kong to help more people better understand and study the pioneering figure in architecture as well as how I.M. Pei and the complex forces and factors at play in global and cross-national architectural landscapes shape each other.
